I love to snack and it is not easy to keep it healthy. I have a sweet tooth so I always gravitate to snacks with lots of sugar, so these days I try not to give in to the temptation of buying them in the first place. I always have fruit in the house so that helps. I also like popcorn largely because its a healthy snack because it is mostly air, especially if its air popped.
Most of the times I season with salt but that gets boring quickly. Here are some recipes that you can try to make the popcorn different
1/2 cup grated parmesan, 3 tablespoons olive oil, 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary and 2 teaspoons salt. Mix all the ingredients and toss the popcorn.
Cinnamon-Sugar
1 teaspoon unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon sugar, cinnamon to taste.Sprinkle the sugar on the buttered popcorn, then shake on the cinnamon.
Italian bread-stick popcorn
1 teaspoon basil, 1 teaspoon parsley,1 teaspoon garlic salt and 1 teaspoon olive oil. Mix all the ingredients and toss with the popcorn.
Spicy Seasoning
2 table spoons brewer’s yeast, 2 tablespoons garlic salt, 1 teaspoon paprika,1 teaspoon ground cumin, 1 teaspoon curry powder. Mix all the ingredients and season the popcorn.
Simply salted
If you prefer your popcorn just salted, add the salt to the popcorn in the pot before popping.
