This week I am on a mission to use up all the yarn that I have. If you follow me on Instagram you will have see the really thin scarf I made from some bulky yarn.
I wanted to make my son a softie and I came across this pattern for an amigurumi elephant snuggle. Did you know that there is such a thing as an amigurumist? Neither did I. I am not sure if its the official word for it but it refers to an amigurumi designer.
I do not make a lot of amigurumi and after I started this project I was reminded why. For the right gauge you have to use a small crochet and you have to make many small pieces that then have to be stuffed and sewn together. That is really not my cup of tea. Safe to say I will not be making an amigurumi any time soon.
I made a mistake with the placement of ears but I figured would not notice it so I left it as is.
This project works up pretty fast, you can do it all in a couple of hours depending on your speed. The instructions are easy to follow so it makes an easy project for a beginner.
