Last week I was looking for a tutorial online on how to make a swaddle blanket. I discovered that you can use receiving blankets to achieve the swaddle. I found this pattern and tutorial by Lotta Jansdotter that she did as part of her book Sewing for Baby. It is very easy to make, if you work really fast you will be done in under two hours. I think it will work really well with a new mom who wont have to learnt how to fold a receiving blanket to swaddle a baby.
