In June I thought I wanted to make a blanket/throw. aI actually bought some yarn to go with it but ended up not doing so. Actually I tried maybe five or six different patterns and then I gave up. The yarn stayed at my side table where it got tangled up until I decided I did not want to make the blanket anymore. I had messed up the yarn so much that I could not take it back to the store.
I don’t even remember what I was looking for on pinterest when I came across the Bitty Birchbark pattern. It was an impulse buy. I saw it and I knew I wanted to make it. Sure it is mostly stockinette(meaning boring) but has so many interesting design elements to it and that is why I bought it.
I learnt how to do a 3 stitch i-cord. Normally I hate making an i cord but this one changed my mind a bit.
All the edges use a stretchy bind off that I have done so many times but still need a reminder for every time, lol. I am not sure if Leo will like this neckline but will see.
If you are thinking about making this pattern, read the pattern through and understand it before knitting. I found that at times the instructions were a bit confusing if I did not read them through.
The only thing I regret is you using acrylic yarn. But at the same time its for Leo it will get really dirty and probably torn before winter is out so I really won’t be hurt a lot.
Total cost(pattern+yarn) for this sweater minus my time is $13 which is not too bad especially for where we live.
I am thinking I want to make a sweater for myself. I just don’t know yet if I am up to that challenge yet, will see.
