Crochet
At this point I feel like it has been summer like forever. While everyone else in the northern hemisphere is experiencing fall, here the heat will not let up. I do not like hot weather, I prefer it when it is cool and I can wear warm clothes. I like my dresses but at this point I am happy to wear leggings, socks and hats all the time and I sleep better at night. I figured if I make a couple of hats and slippers it would make me happier and more prepared for winter. I actually don’t need more hats but its always good for me to have them because I will likely give them away at some point. That and the fact that I just can not sit and do nothing for a long time so if I get bored I grab my yarn and needles.
This is a cap that I crocheted, which I found here. This was fairly easy and quick to make. I am not sure if I love it, still thinking about it.
For this hat, I based it on my beret pattern. I used bulky yarn and used bigger needles. This one I love because it is slouchy and can hide whatever will be going on with hair. I stay in twists or some other protective style during the week an take it out for church so if I have to go somewhere during the week, I will have this hat and the colour goes with everything.
It has taken me three years to make these slippers they have been on my to do list since 2010. They are the popular French Press Felted Slippers. The are felted and I love them but I think they are going to be too warm for Bermuda. I have large feet so I made the biggest size. I still need to make them non slip, will see if I can find puffy paint in our local stores.
Here is hoping you are enjoying your weather wherever you are!
