Crochet
Here is hoping you and yours had a wonderful christmas holiday. We spent our christmas with friends, nothing much to write about, I did not cook this year like I usually do.
Every year I try to finish all my projects and this gingham blanket has been a work in progress for more than six months. I think I started it in April or May and I just finished it last week. I still have one other project, the February sweater which I will hopefully finish before winter comes to an end!
This is my third time making this blanket, though I have not blogged about it before. This was the first item i ever designed and wrote a pattern for and my most popular pattern so far.
The design itself was actually not planned, I had lots of yarn in my stash that I needed to get rid of so I decided to make a blanket and the idea was formed. It took me two weeks for me to finish it at the time and I gifted the blanket. My friend loved her gift and so did other people online.
The pattern itself is easy, but there are many squares to make that you have to sew together. The tricky part is sewing the sating binding onto the blanket. It gets slippery. It is a labour of love but so worth it especially in the winter.
If you would like to make the blanket you can find the free pattern here: https://www.princesstafadzwa.com/free-patterns/diagonal-crochet-squares-gingham-blanket/ Or you can find it on my craftsy or ravelry pages. Remember to share your projects with me once you are done.
