This Chocolate Bread is super moist because of the butternut squash puree, which you will not taste at all.
If you have had any cake or bread with a vegetable or fruit in it then you know how super moist it is. Think banana bread or carrot cake.
I made the butternut squash by simply boiling it until it was tender and then mashed it up. I left it cool before making the bread.
My husband is not a fan of sweet things but he loved this bread. It goes down really well on a cold day with some tea.
Chocolate Bread

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- ½ cup butter
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup butternut squash puree
- ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup milk
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour a 9x5 loaf tin.

Combine flour, salt, cocoa powder, baking soda, cinnamon powder and baking powder in a large bowl. Set aside.

Cream butter and sugars together until fluffy. Stir in eggs, butternut squash puree and milk. Add butternut squash mixture and chocolate chips to flour mixture. Stir just until combined.

Spread into prepared pan (the batter will be thick).

Bake 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
