If you follow my social media accounts then you would know that I made a toddler table for my son and I just finished it! Ta-Da!
I am so happy with the finished product and Leo love it too. I hope it will survive him.
The table is easy to assemble together. No need for a lot of tools or materials. Here is what you will need:
- table top or piece of wood
- 4 table legs
- 4 straight top plates with screws
- screw driver
- spray paint
- chalk board paint
- rolling-pin and rolling bed
- chalk
First you need to screw the straight top plates on the bottom of the table top, I do not have any power tools so I use a screwdriver.
Attach the table legs securely and flip over your table.
Paint in desired colours. I spray painted the legs and used a rolling-pin for the top. Use whatever you have.
I used chalk paint because I want Leo to use it draw on as well. After curing for three days, I used a chalk to season the table. Just cover the whole thing in chalk, use the chalk sideways.
Wipe off with a damp cloth or paper towel. The table is now ready to write on.
Now onto the chairs. I found these two chairs at the thrift store. Actually I saw them one day and decided they were too worn out and left them. I went home and thought about them. All they needed was some paint and they would good as new. I went back to the thrift store and after a week they were still there.
I chose a blue that was close enough to the original colour. This way I would not have to work hard to cover up the original colour. I painted the legs silver to match the original colour.
This is one of my favourite projects this far.
