Gardening
After I made my portable garden, I had a piece of wood leftover and I really struggled with what I was going to do with it. Then the other night I was watching “Chopped” and one of the chefs used a board to plate his food. So I decided to use my piece in a similar way.
It is a wood platter. Perhaps a little too long. I would have cut it but I never can cut wood straight so I used it as is.
I started with a piece of wood.
I stained it on both sides. Painted both sides and removed the excess stain.
I added these plastic studs on the corners.
Let it dry and then using painter’s tape to make a rectangle in the middle.
I then painted with chalkboard paint leftover from when I made Leo’s table.
I removed the tape.
The handles are purely optional but I think they are a nice touch. I attached them with super glue but if you have a drill use that to attach the handles.
That is all. It only takes maybe half an hour of actual work. Most of the time is spent waiting for the paint to dry and cure the board with chalkboard paint which takes three days. Before using the chalkboard remember to cover it all with chalk and then wiping it off.
If you don’t add the handles the board doubles as a sign that you can draw on.
Be sure to share with me if you make this platter.
