Fluffy French Toast Recipe

My favourite meal of the day is breakfast. I start with some kind of porridge followed by anything from eggs to fruit. On occasion I like to make French toast.

For as long as I can remember, I have made French toast by dipping bread in a beaten egg and frying it. It was OK and I loved it like that. I wanted to try something new so I tried a method; adding flour to the eggs. It makes the French toast fluffy.

Fluffy French Toast Recipe

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes
Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 8 slices bread
  • Butter or oil for greasing pan

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200F
  2. Measure flour into a large mixing bowl. Slowly whisk in the milk. Whisk in the salt, eggs, cinnamon, vanilla extract and sugar until smooth.
  3. Heat a lightly oiled frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Soak bread slices in mixture until saturated. Cook bread on each side until golden brown.
  5. Place in a oven tray and bake for 10 minutes.
  6. Serve hot.
