It feels like it has been forever since I wrote here. I have had so much admin work to do. Nothing interesting, just a number of small things that need my attention. Very little to do with actually creating things. It feels good to be writing something right now!
I have a few projects that I am working on, so I will give you a short update.
Remember the sweater I am making, I still have some way to go. Hopefully next week I will get some time to finish at least the sleeves.
I met with Ignatius Mabasa, he is a Zimbabwean author, storyteller and poet. His book, Tipeiwo Dariro, was one of our Shona set books. I attended one of his children’s storytelling sessions and it was fun(for me and the kids). I introduced myself and initially I was not sure how that would go. I will say that he is one of the most humble and gracious people I have ever met. He liked my books and he gifted me one of his novels which I will review whenever I find time to finish the book.
I am working on another colouring book and I think I will finish it soon.
I roped in my brother to build an outdoor bench for my mom and we are half way there. Will share the pictures soon.
Yesterday, I saw mazhanje( a wild fruit) in town. I can not tell you how excited I am about eating them soon. Oh there is also the smell of rain after a hot day. It is small things like this that I miss when I am in Bermuda.
Here is hoping that you have a great weekend!
