Luna Pants Pattern Review

It’s been a minute since I last sewn something. My machine quickly reminded me why. It is old and I spend more time trying to get it to work than actually. I need a new machine but I can not afford one right now so will work with what I have right now.

I have been following Rae of made-by-rae.com for some time now. I think the first pattern of hers I made was a bag and have been using her patterns over the years. Last year when she started testing this pants pattern, I knew I would like to make it some day when I got some fabric.

All the while I had forgotten that I had some fabric that my mom gave me last year when I visited Zimbabwe. When I saw it I knew what I wanted to turn the fabric into.

LUNA PANTS!

Rae’s patterns are easy to follow, took me about 2 hours start to finish largely because working with a toddler is just asking for trouble. I got it done none the less and I love them. I am into these kinds of pants these days. They are perfect for me because I like to lounge around and be comfortable. And I am too lazy to wear pants with a zipper.

The fabric makes the pants interesting. When I wear them I am sure many people will ask me where I am from, even though local shops carry African prints.

Now I need to look for a plain top. Perhaps blue or turquoise.

This pattern is perfect for a beginner. It is easy and nothing too difficult. Someone who has made pants before will not need the instructions. They will definitely boost your confidence!
