The past four weeks have been a blur, we moved apartments, had vacation bible school at church and I was busy but have no idea doing what! I am so excited my natural hair is a year old. I’m not sure or care for the actual day but I know it was last year in August about a month before I went to Zimbabwe. Back then I was just rocking wash and go’s after my big chop, I did not even know what I was doing and over the year I have tried so many things. This is what I have learnt about my hair and myself:
- My hair is some type 4, it has some curl pattern
-
I do not like protective styling, well maybe for about a week
-
I must deep condition my hair and moisturise it otherwise it gets tangled and looks nasty
-
My favourite hairstyle is the puff, I am lazy and it is easy
-
I can’t do twists, twist outs or hand coils to save my life, maybe with more practice but I am just too lazy
-
I like combing my hair even though “they” say its bad
-
My hair feels like cotton when well moisturised that is why I have a hand in a hair syndrome
-
Leo does not understand why my hair is natural but still supports me, love him for that
-
I love my Afro because it brings out the African in me, if you come to my church and ask for the African with big hair, you will find me
-
I think I have never looked better than I have with my unrelaxed hair.
