You walk into a store to buy knives, and they are all new and shiny. The label says they are stainless steel. You buy them and you are happy you have new knives. You use them a couple of days and then the rust starts to appear. I hate when that happens.
The best way to keep your knives stain free thing is to keep your knives as dry. Clean them as soon as you finish using them. When you live in a humid place like Bermuda that becomes difficult, because there is so much moisture in the air anyway.
Here is one of my knives, that i have thought about throwing out so many times but just seemed so wasteful.
When I was poring over pinterest I discovered that you can remove the stains with lemon juice.
Soak your knives in lemon juice overnight and the rust stains will loosen up and you will be able to scrub them off.
Here is what mine looked like after a couple of hours. I will have to soak the handle side as well.
