Over time kitchen utensils will get stains. Coffee, burning and some greens will result in staining. Soap is just not enough sometimes and you may also need some elbow grease to get the stains out.
I have used baking soda for cleaning around the house before but just never thought of using it for my pots and dishes. I usually use it for my sink it leaves it shining. Just make a paste of water and baking soda and scrub the sink. The sink will be shining. I saw this trick on HGTV, where a realtor was preparing a house for an open house.
I thrifted this pot some time last year, its shows its age but it is still functional. I usually use it for my vegetables. Last week I used it for making munyevhe(spider leaf vegetables) and the pot got stained.
I made a paste of baking soda and water and scrubbed the inside of the pot and the stains came right out.
I did the same with my coffee mugs and plates and they got clean. The pictures were not clear to post here but it works.
What other methods do you use to get rid of stains? Please share below.

I just learned that cream of tartar can be used for stains also. This includes older quilts or quilt tops that might have rust stains on them. It seems to act as a gentle bleach. For more info Google cream of tartar.
I will have to try that. Thanks Kathryn.
