I have wanted to make a hat for myself all summer long but just could not find the time or the energy to do it. Then I found out Betz White was having a Reversible Bucket Hat Sew Along. I have always wanted to take part in a sew along but just have not made a commitment to do it until this week
I bought the pattern from her Etsy shop and could instantly download the pattern. From the pattern pieces I was able to figure out what I needed to do without reading the instructions. I did read them so that I would not have to start over. I used fabric from my stash, you can use an old garment too.
I was supposed to top stitch the hat but my machine started acting up towards the end and I figured I could wear the hat as is. I actually made two hats, the other one is for my sister.
I think I am going to make another one using denim, perhaps with some old jeans.
The sew along is going on until 22 August so there is still time if you you want to take part!
