I have wanted to make candles for a long time like more than fifteen years. I just never did it. I can’t say why. In 2016, when I was in Zimbabwe I found some beeswax at Marsdorp Market. I had no idea what I wanted to do with it, I was just mostly excited about finding beeswax in Zimbabwe. Years ago when I was making a lot of body and hair butters I couldn’t find some in Bermuda.

3 years later, I decided to make some candles with the beeswax. All I used was the beeswax and some lavender I had. As well as the candle wick. Since I had very little I made some tea candles. I used a small cupcake tin and used some hair pins to hold the wicks

I melted the beeswax using a double boiler and poured it into the cupcake tin. I sprinkled the lavender on top and left it to cool.

I don’t even know why I waited this long. It is so easy and instantly gratifies.

Have a great weekend!
