I have lived in Bermuda for five years and its very easy to take it for granted that I live in, what to most people is a dream destination. Anywhere that you can live on the island you will be at most ten minutes away from the beach, yet a year can go by without me getting to the beach. Living here means I can go to the beach for free but I hate the sand that you bring home. The sand is everywhere and it puts me off going back to the beach. Starting this year, I want to do better and get out of the house more often.
Yesterday, we went to Turtle Beach that is in St David’s Parish. Its on the eastern part of the island. I like that it is not very popular with tourists so its on the quiet side. There is also a small park next to the beach so there is a lot of shade to sit in.
Not all beaches in Bermuda have lifeguard service but this one does.
Within walking distance, there is Cooper’s Island Nature Reserve that also has other beaches and these have even fewer people if that is what you will be looking for.
Close by is Clearwater beach and the park here is bigger. This beach is bigger than Turtle beach but most people with children like it because the water is calm.
