Early this week I came up with a theory. It is really simple but applies to me very well. I make so many hats because I have many bad hair days. Especially this year, I am just not bothered at all.
These days I wear my hair in a wash and go, I have type 4 hair so my hair does not curl much unless if I finger coil. I love my hair as it is actually but I know for certain my husband will be happy when I do “something” about my hair. I still deep condition my hair every week but every morning I wash it with water(no shampoo), apply leave in conditioner and finger comb with a styling foam.
I have countless satin caps that are supposed to keep my hair soft and keep whatever style I have but that has gone out the window. Plus my hair could use a good detangling session.
When all else fails, I just slap on a beanie. See easy, hahaha.
This past week, I made another one. It is just a combination of purl and knit stitches. I love how warm it is.
I had also forgotten how much I enjoy knitting. I have a work in progress that is older than my son. Ridiculous really but hopefully I will finish my February sweater, before the end of February. <=That is me trying to be funny, in case you missed it.
Here is the pattern download:

I started knitting your violet beanie and when I got to round 3, I’m short a stitch. If you knit 2 and purl 1, you should have 81 stitches. Or am I reading the pattern wrong. Could you help me with this, I really like the hat. Thanks Jeanne
Hi Jeanne,
I made a mistake with that part, I just have not had enough time to rework the pattern so that I fix that. What you can do is make an increase in the previous round so you have enough.
Hi!!! Thanks a lot for this pattern. I´m trying to understand the english terms for knitting first… and then I intend to use your measures for doing a cap for my daughter. Let´s see what will happen (LOL)
Have a nice day!!!
