Cauliflower Bites

How to make cauliflower bites

Ingredients

  • 12 oz cauliflower cut into bite sized pieces (about 1/2 a large head of cauliflower)
  • cooking oil for frying
  • 2 large eggs whisked
  • 2 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Bring 1 cup of water to boil and add cauliflower. Cook for five minutes or until the cauliflower is tender. Drain and mash the cauliflower.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk eggs with heavy cream. Set aside.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, garlic powder, smoked paprika and cayenne pepper. Set aside.

  4. Mix the cauliflower, eggs and flour micture into a wet dough.

  5. Pour 1 1/2 inches of cooking oil into a pot. When the oil reaches 350F, spoon the cauliflower dough into the oil. Make sure not to crowd the pot. Cook a few minutes until a deep golden brown. Remove cauliflower bites with a slotted spoon and place onto a paper towel lined plate. Repeat with remaining cauliflower bites dough.

  6. Serve warm with your favourite dip.
